Short-Term Mission Opportunities

Equipping Teachers Developing Leaders

THE SOLUTIONS

IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES

Before teachers can be sent, the field must be identified. We are committed to identifying opportunities where a short-term mission campaign will fill a need, including the following:

  • Existing mission fields where a church has been established, but is in need of support and nurturing care. Special emphasis will be placed on identifying “young” churches where the lack of experienced teachers is hindering growth;

  • Church plants involving local missionaries or church planting teams where a concentrated campaign will provide a jump-start and increase visibility;

  • Mature churches, especially within the United States, that have gone through extended periods with little or no growth.

It is important to note the following assumptions:

  • It is not our goal to create or assume leadership within a church. We believe that the goal of short-term mission teams should be to support and assist the local church. We will make every effort to avoid creating dependent churches in the mission field;

  • We will not be respecters of persons. While we must be conscious of our resources and capabilities, it is our goal to send short-term mission teams wherever they are needed, regardless of location or circumstance; and

  • Based upon our recent experience, opportunities already exist within the United States, Romania, and Mexico. Initial emphasis will be placed on these countries.
